Jeep totaled in early morning I-75 crash with semi truck

Early Tuesday morning, August 19, a semi truck entered the highway from the shoulder and ended up in front of a northbound Jeep on I-75 near Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers, Florida.

What happened: Around 1:30 a.m., the Jeep collided with the trailer of the semi. The truck kept going north after the crash.

  • The person in the Jeep had minor injuries and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
  • The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the semi and the driver, who left the scene.
