Early Thursday morning, an 18-wheeler crash in Fort Worth claimed the life of a woman and severely injured a man.
What happened: The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. on West Loop 820 at White Settlement Road, where construction had compressed traffic to one lane.
- The semi-truck, driven by 24-year-old Guadalupe Velasquez Cruz, failed to stop and hit a car in front, leading to a chain reaction.
- The woman driving the hit car was killed, and her 41-year-old male passenger was seriously injured, reported Fox 4 News.
- A third car was involved but the occupants were unharmed.
Charges: Velasquez Cruz was found to be intoxicated after field sobriety tests, leading to charges of intoxication manslaughter.
