On July 29, 2025, law enforcement in the Katy, Texas area set up a commercial vehicle inspection blitz along I-10 near the Waller County line.
The results: Out of 23 inspected trucks, over half were placed out of service for safety failures.
- Officials say common problems were faulty brakes and cracked frames.
- Thirteen trucks were pulled from service until issues could be fixed.
- Two drivers were taken off the road for not having the right kind of licenses.
- Four citations and 145 warnings were issued during the operation.
The inspections were carried out by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, along with Katy Police and Waller County Sheriff’s deputies.
No crashes or major incidents were reported during the one-day blitz.
