Ice Pick Bandit strikes Southfork Truck Stop again

The "Ice Pick Bandit" has struck again at the Southfork Truck Stop in Gurdon, Arkansas. This makes it the second attack at this location since September.

What happened: On the night between January 19th and 20th, the bandit targeted semi trucks at the truck stop, slashing 296 tires on 40 trucks.

  • The damage is estimated to be as much as $45,000, according to the Clark County Sheriff.
  • Security footage reveals a red truck that might be the getaway vehicle.

The suspect: The Ice Pick Bandit has been active since 2023, with attacks in several states like Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. He appears on camera as a white male, aged 30-40, sporting a mustache.

Security measures: The truck stop is working on getting higher resolution cameras to help catch the culprit. "Hopefully we can catch him red-handed or before he attacks the next time," said manager Stephanie Helsey reported Arkadelphian.

Looking ahead: The authorities speculate he might be parking elsewhere to avoid detection. There's also a theory that he might be a former DOT officer or someone with a grudge against truck drivers.

No one has been hurt in these incidents so far, but truckers in the area stay vigilant against such attacks.
