The first real snow of the season hit Blewett Pass in Washington early Monday morning, October 13th, causing big problems for truckers and shutting down US Highway 97.
What's going on: The pass was closed before sunrise, around 6:30 a.m., after heavy snow left multiple semi trucks disabled and blocking the road.
- Both directions were shut down at mile marker 164 in the Wenatchee Mountains.
- Officials said the snow and stuck trucks also led to collisions in the area.
What WSDOT said: The Washington Department of Transportation confirmed the closure was caused by "heavy snowfall, disabled semis and collisions," according to WSDOT East's official update.
- No word yet on when Blewett Pass will reopen.
- No injuries have been reported so far.
