What happened: Hector Samuel Esquijerosa pleaded guilty to working with others worldwide to bring in Chinese-made truck tires while evading nearly $2 million in U.S. import fees.

Esquijerosa operated two Miami-based firms that imported these tires.
The plan involved routing the tires through countries like Canada and Malaysia to hide their origin.
