Fiery collision between two semis causes highway fire in Fargo

A fiery collision involving two semis occurred on Interstate 29 in Fargo, North Dakota, around 2:30 a.m. on February 28, 2025.

What happened: A Kenworth truck, driven by a 72-year-old from Minnesota, was merging back onto the highway from the shoulder and was rear-ended by an empty cattle hauler driven by a 66-year-old from Manitoba.

  • The impact caused the cattle hauler to catch fire, though the driver was able to escape with minor injuries.
  • The Kenworth managed to pull over on the shoulder, while the cattle hauler stopped in the right lane.

The aftermath: Responding agencies, including the Fargo Fire Department and Sanford Ambulance, quickly got the fire under control.

  • The Highway Patrol is still investigating, with charges pending for both drivers.

No one else was hurt in this incident, reported KVRR News.
