Female trucker attacked and seriously injured in I-78 road rage

A female truck driver was badly hurt in a violent road rage attack on I-78 in Bethel Township, Pennsylvania, late Monday night, November 3rd.

What happened: Police say the incident started when Reginald A. Warner, 47, of Texas, followed the 55-year-old trucker from San Antonio for about five miles. He then pulled in front of her on the westbound interstate and forced her to stop in the left lane.

  • Warner went up to her window, accused her of hitting his truck, and told her to roll down her window.
  • When she cracked the window, he climbed up and started punching her through the opening.
  • She tried to defend herself with a wooden tire bat, but Warner took it from her and hit her in the head about six or seven times, police say.
  • During the attack, her foot came off the brake, causing her rig to roll forward and hit Warner’s trailer.

The aftermath: The driver called 911 right away. When police and EMS arrived, they found her covered in blood with serious head injuries.

  • She needed skin glue for a deep cut above her eye and nine stitches behind her head.
  • Medics think she might have suffered a fractured skull.

Warner was arrested at the scene and is being held in Lebanon County jail on $100,000 bail that has not been posted, according to PennLive.
