FedEx Driver Falls Asleep, Causes Semi Crash in Utah

A FedEx driver fell asleep and caused a crash on northbound I-15 in Pintura, Utah, on Wednesday morning, September 18th.

The details: The driver was hauling double trailers when he nodded off and sideswiped another semi. Overcorrecting, he caused the rig to roll over, sending both trailers onto the grassy shoulder.

  • Thankfully, there was minimal impact on traffic.
  • Both the driver and his co-driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.

The aftermath: Cleanup efforts include dragging the overturned trailers back through a roadside fence. Troopers closed Exit 33 while they cleared the scene.

According to FOX 13 News, officials are investigating the incident, but no further details have been released.
