2025 CVSA Inspection Dates Truckers Need to Know

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has announced its major inspection blitz dates for 2025.

The big picture: These events aim to enforce safety regulations and reduce the number of commercial vehicle accidents on North American roads.

Key dates:

  • International Roadcheck: Scheduled for May 13-15, 2025. This is the largest enforcement program targeting commercial vehicles worldwide, with inspectors examining nearly 15 trucks and motorcoaches every minute during the 72-hour period.
  • Operation Safe Driver Week: Takes place from July 13-19, 2025. Law enforcement will be on the lookout for risky driving behaviors, issuing citations or warnings to both truckers and passenger vehicle drivers.
  • Brake Safety Week: Set for August 24-30, 2025. An unannounced one-day brake safety enforcement initiative will occur at any time during the campaign.

Focus areas: During Brake Safety Week, special attention will be given to checking the condition of brake linings and pads. Any vehicle found with significant brake violations will be taken out of service until repairs are made.

Why it matters: Brake-related violations are the most common cause for taking trucks out of service. The CVSA aims to reduce accidents resulting from brake malfunctions through these initiatives.

For truckers, adhering to these regulations means safer roads and fewer incidents. Mark your calendars and ensure your equipment is in top shape ahead of these inspections.
