FedEx day cab dangles from SH-146 overpass in Texas

On Wednesday, August 6, part of a FedEx day cab was left hanging off the side of the SH-146 overpass at West Main Street in La Porte, Texas.

What happened: The truck was driving on the SH-146 overpass when the cab went over the edge, leaving it suspended while still connected to the trailer. No other vehicles were involved, and the exact cause of the crash hasn't been released yet.

  • The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, mostly as a safety measure.
  • Emergency crews closed southbound SH-146 and West Main Street under the overpass while dealing with the incident.
  • The northbound service road stayed open for traffic.

Officials have not said how long the southbound lanes will stay closed. Cleanup and removal work was still underway, according to FOX 26 Houston.
