Excavator hits two I-90 bridges, no injuries reported

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, a truck hauling an excavator struck two bridges on I-90 in the town of Florida, New York.

What happened: Around 10:30 a.m., the equipment being hauled on a flatbed trailer hit the Snooks Corners Road and Fort Hunter Road overpasses.

  • The driver, Rohan R. Webb from Nebraska, received tickets for traffic violations.
  • A gray Mazda driven by Alynn L. Underriner hit debris from the bridge strike, but no one was hurt.

Aftermath: Both overpasses needed repairs. One was reopened soon after, and the other was in the process of reopening as of August 12, according to New York State Police.

No injuries were reported in either vehicle. All lanes and bridges are now back in service.
