Early morning near-miss as semi truck dangles off Interstate ramp

A semi truck took an unexpected detour early on Thursday, March 21, as it crashed through a guardrail and slid down an embankment while exiting Interstate 840 onto I-65 North in Williamson County, Tennessee.

The details: At the time of the incident, the cab of the truck was left hanging onto the guardrail, with the trailer dangling off the side. Fortunately, the driver managed to escape unscathed.

The accident, which occurred during the early morning hours, prompted authorities to caution drivers in the area of potential traffic delays as emergency teams worked to secure and remove the truck and clear away any debris reported WSMV.

Road conditions: Commuters from Spring Hill traveling north were advised to find alternative travel routes to avoid the congestion caused by the crash.

Situations like these highlight the challenges truck drivers may encounter on the road, regardless of their level of expertise.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol Nashville division suggested alternative routes while only the shoulder of the off-ramp was accessible due to the overnight crash aftermath.

At the end of the day, even with major traffic disruptions, the positive note is that no injuries were reported from the incident.
