Dog on highway causes crash with four semis

A dog on a highway led to a major accident in Washington County, Texas, on October 18, 2024. The collision involved a passenger car and four 18-wheelers, sending three individuals to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash: It happened around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 290. A car stopped in the lane for a dog, and was hit by a semi-truck, triggering a chain reaction with three more semis.

  • One of the semis overturned, spilling its load of rocks and leaking diesel and oil.

A section of Highway 290 was temporarily closed for cleanup and investigation.

Details: The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed no fatalities, but the incident caused significant traffic delays in the area according to KBTX News.

Thankfully, despite the chaos, everyone involved survived with only minor injuries. Highway 290 reopened once the necessary cleanup was completed.
