Deputy finds stolen avocados in semi on I-35

A load of stolen avocados was found and recovered in Hill County, Texas, on December 12th, after a deputy spotted a semi truck matching the description from a theft report.

The incident: The trailer, carrying around 34,000 avocados, was initially reported stolen from Laredo, Texas. The quick response by the officer led to a traffic stop on I-35.

  • The Hill County Sheriff's Office coordinated with Texas DPS to stop the truck, confirming the stolen cargo.

Important note: The truck driver was not arrested, as requested by Laredo police. Only the cargo was secured.

The rightful owner later retrieved the avocados, but details about potential suspects remain undisclosed.
