Dash cam video shared by the New York State Department of Transportation shows a multi-car crash this week on I-81 in Jefferson County, New York.
What happened: The crash took place earlier this week when drivers ignored “Mowing Ahead” work zone signs posted in the area.
- One car tried to merge quickly and clipped another vehicle. That second car spun out and hit a roadside mower.
- Crews were working alongside the highway at the time, but thankfully no one was hurt in the crash.
Between the lines: Authorities said the crash was caused by drivers not slowing down and not paying attention to warning signs in the work zone.
The DOT said the outcome could have been much worse, but fortunately everyone involved walked away uninjured.
