Big Klass CDL School in southern Dallas had the same semi truck stolen from their lot twice in just one month. The first theft happened on May 31, captured by a security camera. School co-owner Kyree McClish said he called 911 right away, but police didn’t respond until the next day.
What happened next: Dallas Police later found the semi truck a couple weeks after the first theft. But on June 28, thieves broke through the school's security gate and took the very same truck again.
- After the second robbery, McClish called police, but this time says officers never even showed up.
- Mesquite Police found the missing semi on July 1, but as of now, no suspects have been arrested.
Why it matters: Big Klass CDL School serves veterans and folks trying to rebuild their lives, even those who’ve been homeless or formerly incarcerated. The repeated theft means fewer trucks available for students hoping to earn their CDL and start a new chapter, reported WFAA.
Dallas police say these business thefts are a lower priority call, which can cause longer response times. The school, meanwhile, is pushing forward while waiting to recover their truck. No arrests have been announced at this time.
