Dallas CDL school fights back after repeated truck thefts

A CDL school in Dallas that helps people who have been in prison, the homeless, and veterans had two semi trucks stolen in late July. This is the third time the school has had a truck stolen in just three months.

The details: Big Klass CDL, run by Army veteran Kyree McClish and his wife, lost trucks in May, June, and now again in July. Each time, the thieves targeted the same vehicle—until this last theft, when two trucks went missing at once.

  • The first theft was caught on camera and that truck was eventually recovered.
  • After the most recent theft, police found a receipt left by the thieves, which led investigators to a Dallas business that could be connected.
  • The school says police were slow to help on previous incidents. This time, McClish personally tracked down an officer to get things moving.

Impact: The repeated thefts have made it tough for Big Klass CDL to keep training students who are trying to turn their lives around. "It's really sad... we have to turn down businesses because we're down on equipment," said Carolina McClish.

Big Klass CDL trains drivers from all around Dallas and the surrounding area, helping people get back on their feet with real trucking jobs, according to Big Klass CDL School.

The investigation into the repeated truck thefts is still ongoing.
