CVSA Announces Major Truck Inspections and Enforcement Events for 2025

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has announced its major enforcement events for 2025.

What to know: The CVSA has scheduled several significant inspection and enforcement initiatives throughout North America for commercial motor vehicles.

  • International Roadcheck: This will take place from May 13 to 15. It's known as the largest enforcement program targeting commercial vehicle safety worldwide.
  • Operation Safe Driver Week: Set for July 13 to 19, this initiative will focus on identifying risky driving behaviors by both truck and passenger vehicle drivers.
  • Brake Safety Week: Scheduled for August 24 to 30, where inspectors will primarily check for brake system violations. There's also an unannounced one-day brake inspection that could happen at any time.

Inspection focus: The emphasis during Brake Safety Week will be on the condition of brake linings and pads. In 2024, these components were a key focus area.

These enforcement efforts aim to enhance road safety and ensure commercial vehicles meet necessary standards.
