The California Highway Patrol (CHP) nabbed three suspects and recovered cargo worth $218,000 during a theft sting in Bakersfield on March 26.
Quick catch: CHP targeted a suspicious truckload heading from Kentucky to Tulare County after the vehicle made an unexpected stop and the crew fiddled with security devices.
- The truck missed its drop-off, but cops stopped it in Madera County and found a haul of hot wearable tech, including VR headsets and fancy sunglasses.
Behind bars: They arrested trucker Pavittar Singh Bains, and his cohorts, Balraj Singh Judge and Simrandeep Singh, tossing them in Kern County Jail for a bunch of hefty charges including grand theft.
Agencies like KernCATT and TRATT teamed up with CHP for this mission, putting a dent in cargo crooks' operations.
Thanks to sharp-eyed law enforcement, truckers can breathe a little easier knowing there's one less band of thieves on the prowl.
The arrested trio are currently waiting for their day in court, facing serious time for their big score gone bust.
