CHP arrests trucker for suspected DUI after 911 calls

A truck driver was arrested for DUI and having an open container after people called in about his driving on Highway 99 near Visalia, California, over the weekend.

What happened: On November 1st, citizens reached out to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) after noticing a semi moving recklessly in the area. CHP officers tracked down the truck and made a stop.

  • Once they pulled the driver over, officers found alcohol inside the truck’s cab.
  • The driver was taken into custody and now faces alcohol-related charges, including DUI and having an open container in the vehicle.

The CHP says they want folks to keep reporting dangerous drivers when they spot them. No injuries or crashes were reported in this incident.
