Car driver rips HAZMAT placard off semi in road rage

An East Windsor man is facing charges after a road rage incident with a semi truck in South Windsor, Connecticut last August.

The incident: Police say 66-year-old Kevin Keleher cut off a tractor trailer on the 400 block of Sullivan Avenue, then got out of his car and tore the HAZMAT placard off the truck's front bumper with his hands.

  • Keleher did not stay at the scene.
  • The truck driver reported the damage to police.
  • An arrest warrant was issued for Keleher.

The aftermath: Keleher turned himself in on September 15 and was charged with criminal mischief and breach of peace, according to WTNH News 8.

He was released and is set to appear in Manchester Superior Court on October 1.
