Car driver flees after fatal crash that kills trucker on I-95

A man suspected in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a truck driver nearly two years ago has finally turned himself in.

What happened: The crash took place around 5:05 a.m. on November 19, 2023, on southbound I-95 near the 158-mile marker in Prince William County, Virginia.

After the crash: Puryear reportedly gave his info to officers for the initial report but took off before police could finish the investigation.

  • Puryear, 50, from Kingstowne, turned himself in on the morning of October 30, 2025, at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.
  • He faces charges including involuntary manslaughter, felony hit and run, and drug possession with intent to sell.

A court hearing is set for November 3, according to FFXnow.
