A candy-filled day took a turn on April 3rd in Pennsylvania when a big rig hit a low clearance bridge, spilling its sweet load across the road.
The incident: Happened on South Flowers Mill Road in Middletown Township. The bridge clearance was marked at just 9'9", not tall enough for the semi's trailer.
- The impact tore the trailer into two, leaving candy scattered everywhere.
- Fortunately, nobody got hurt in the accident.
Police comment: "The neon signs indicating clearance aren't a challenge," quipped the Middletown Township Police Department, reminding drivers of the height restrictions.
Additional hit: This wasn't the only headache for the day - there were actually two bridge strikes in the area, keeping local officers busy.
Though this clean-up might have been a sugary task, everyone walked away unscathed.
