Authorities seek trucker after deadly Ohio I-77 accident

Authorities are searching for a truck driver involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 77 near Franklin Township, Ohio. The incident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. on October 24.

The incident: The trucker attempted a u-turn using a crossover lane, leading to a collision with a vehicle driven by Dennis L. Alsept, 78, who was traveling in the left lane. Tragically, Alsept passed away from his injuries a week later, on October 31.

Investigation: The Ohio Highway Patrol is seeking a red tractor trailer with a sleeper cab, reportedly pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with black metal pipes. Video surveillance has helped identify the suspect vehicle, which has distinctive chrome accessories and letters on its doors reported The Times-Reporter.

Next steps: Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact the New Philadelphia post. The driver could face criminal charges once located.
