Arizona troopers find cracked frames, put trucks out of service

Arizona troopers carried out a targeted inspection on US-60 between Wickenburg and Mesa on August 19, 2025. The Arizona Department of Public Safety checked dozens of commercial vehicles in one day.

Key numbers:

  • 38 commercial vehicles stopped
  • 37 inspections completed
  • 138 violations found
  • 6 drivers taken off the road
  • 4 trucks taken out of service

Violations included cracked frames, bad repairs, and missing wheel parts. Troopers say some of these problems were serious enough to pull rigs off the road on the spot.

Just one hazmat load was inspected during the detail.

The operation was aimed at catching unsafe equipment and keeping drivers honest — but also shows the high level of scrutiny truckers face on the road.
