Winter weather prompts travel restrictions on key Colorado roads

A major winter storm has led to travel restrictions for commercial vehicles on key Colorado roads.

The situation: Colorado State Patrol announced that commercial vehicles are restricted on certain roads due to bad weather expected from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning, November 8 to 9.

  • Interstate 70: Restrictions are from Golden to Silverthorne (Mile Post 259 to 205).
  • Interstate 25: Restrictions south of Plum Creek Pkwy to North Academy Blvd (Mile Post 180).
  • US 285: Restrictions from Morrison to Fairplay (Mile Post 250 to 184).
  • US 40 Berthoud Pass and US 6 Loveland Pass also have restrictions.

Parking options: Emergency truck parking is available at the old dog track off Pueblo Blvd and Lake Ave, with overflow parking at the Pueblo Mall.

As of the afternoon of November 8, over 200 trucks are already parked in available locations, but more space is still available.
