Trucker falls asleep, causing rollover on I-15 in Utah

A driver fell asleep while hauling double trailers in Southern Utah, leading to a rollover accident on northbound I-15. This happened on the morning of September 18th near exit 33.

The details: A FedEx truck driver dozed off while his co-driver was resting, causing the truck to sideswipe another semi. The driver overcorrected, leading to the truck and both trailers overturning onto the grassy shoulder.

  • The incident didn't significantly impact traffic as the trailers rolled off the road.
  • Both the driver and the co-driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities plan to remove the trailers through a roadside fence. The exit was temporarily closed for the cleanup, reported Fox 13 News.
