The details: The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the westbound 210 Freeway transition to southbound I-15 in Fontana. Santa Ana winds caused the truck to topple and pin the driver against a guardrail.

  • When emergency responders arrived, they found the driver trapped. Despite efforts to free and transport him to a hospital, he did not survive his injuries.
  • Over a dozen trucks were affected by the windstorm in the region over the two days, but no serious injuries were reported in the other incidents.
