State troopers plan I-70 enforcement weekend to curb speeding

State troopers from multiple states are teaming up this weekend for a major traffic enforcement operation on Interstate 70.

When: The blitz kicks off at midnight on Friday, October 4 and wraps up at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 6.

Who's involved: Troopers from Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio will be enforcing traffic laws.

The initiative aims to curb unsafe driving practices like speeding and distracted driving.
Last fall, a similar operation in Ohio led to 388 citations for speed and 31 safety belt violations.

The bigger picture: This operation is part of the ongoing 6-State Trooper Project, which also includes states like Kentucky and Michigan according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol release.
