Passenger vehicle crash with semi results in fatality on I-80

A tragic accident occurred on October 9 near Winnemucca, Nevada, involving a vehicle and a semi-trailer. The crash claimed the life of 65-year-old Lawrence Neely from Utah.

What happened: The incident took place on eastbound I-80 at mile marker 155. A semi-truck was moving slowly due to a nearby wildfire, which was when Neely's car struck the back of the trailer.

  • The front end of Neely's Toyota Corolla collided with the semi-trailer and remained attached after the impact.
  • Sadly, Neely died at the scene, reported CDLLife.
  • No other injuries were reported in the incident.

The details: The trailer involved bore a Celadon logo. Celadon, once a large transport company, went bankrupt and liquidated its assets in 2019.

Currently, the Nevada State Patrol's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash, seeking more information. Anyone with details is encouraged to contact authorities.
