FedEx Driver Falls Asleep, Causes Crash on I-15 in Utah

A truck driver fell asleep and caused a crash on northbound I-15 near Pintura, Utah, on the morning of September 18th.

What happened: A FedEx driver hauling double trailers fell asleep while his co-driver rested. The truck sideswiped another semi and overturned after the driver overcorrected, reported Fox 13 News.

The details: Both trailers ended up on the grassy shoulder, causing little disruption to traffic.

  • The driver and his co-driver were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • The crash happened at Exit 33 on I-15, causing the exit to be closed for some time.

Officials are planning to drag the trailers back through a roadside fence as part of the cleanup process.
