Truck drivers from across the tri-state area came together for the "Truckers for Turkeys" event in Deer Park, New York on November 3rd.

The event: Hosted by Long Island Cares, it aimed to support families facing food insecurity.

Held in a parking lot at Tanger Outlets, the gathering featured a truck show, live music, and food trucks.
Santa Claus and his elves even made a special appearance.

"It's really just wonderful to see how strong this support is here on Long Island for people who are struggling," said Katherine Fritz, Long Island Cares vice president of Development in Communications, reported News 12.
