Tesla’s Nevada semi truck factory edges closer to completion

Tesla's new semi truck factory in Nevada is advancing with the main structure now in place. The factory, located next to the existing Giga Nevada facility, aims to produce Tesla Semi trucks by the end of 2025.

Current status: This development comes almost a year after plans for the factory were announced. Initially, the project faced delays, but construction is progressing, and the factory topped off its main area with the final piece of structural steel recently.

  • The construction team is focused on safety and efficiency, ensuring the project stays on track for next year.

Background: Tesla Semi was first unveiled in 2017 with the intent to hit the market by 2020. However, full production only began in late 2022. As of October 2023, Tesla was using around 70 Tesla Semis internally and with PepsiCo, its primary external customer.

What's next: Tesla plans to set up the factory throughout 2025 and commence production on new lines by the end of the year, reported Electrek.

While the full effects of the new plant's production capability remain to be seen, the completion of the main factory area brings optimism for progress in the upcoming months.
