On Wednesday morning in Escambia County, Florida, a semi-truck driver caused a four-vehicle crash.
What happened: The accident took place on I-10 west at about 8 a.m. when one semi overturned. The driver, a 46-year-old from Sacramento, told Florida Highway Patrol officers that he probably fell asleep at the wheel.
- The semi's front tires hit the grassy median, causing it to flip onto its side.
- The trailer was loaded with 37,000 pounds of cranberry juice.
A chain reaction: As the semi lost control, it collided with a sedan driven by a 93-year-old man from Pensacola. The sedan then hit an SUV driven by a 47-year-old woman from Milton.
Meanwhile, a second semi-truck driver tried to avoid the chaos but ended up jackknifed in a median about a quarter-mile east. The driver, a 34-year-old from Hattiesburg, reported ABC7 Amarillo.
Thankfully, none of the drivers involved in the crash sustained any injuries.
