Overloaded truck stopped in Scranton, CDL suspended

The Scranton Police Department made a critical stop on November 17, 2024, finding a semi-truck overloaded by thousands of pounds in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

What happened: The truck, carrying 40,000 pounds of goods, was caught using an exit meant for much lighter loads.

  • The inspection revealed a suspended CDL, missing log book, and an unregistered trailer — last registered back in 1999.
  • The Motor Carrier Enforcement team had the vehicle towed due to these severe violations.

Thankfully, the truck driver was stopped before any accidents occurred due to these issues.
