New Truck Stops Coming to I-10 Corridor in Texas

Truckers in Southeast Texas can look forward to new options on the I-10 corridor soon.

What's happening: Four new truck stops are planned between Beaumont and Orange, TX. At least one of these stops will open by the end of October 2024.

  • These stops will provide parking, fuel, and amenities specifically for truckers, according to 12 News Now.
  • City leaders believe these stops will boost the local economy by attracting more truck drivers and their business.

The big picture: Southeast Texas, especially the area around Vidor, is a key hub due to its oil and manufacturing industries.

What they're saying: Vidor City Manager Robbie Hood is optimistic about the economic impact. "Every dollar spent inside these truck stops captures sales tax for the city and state," he said.

While the remaining three stops don't have a set opening date yet, the first one will welcome truckers later this month.
