Multiple semi crashes jam 5 Freeway in Los Angeles

Multiple crashes involving semi trucks led to major traffic delays on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles.

When it happened: The accidents occurred on Wednesday, November 6th, starting early in the morning.

The details: The first crash occurred around 5 a.m. on the southbound side at Roxford Street in Sylmar, involving a semi and a passenger car, along with other vehicles.

  • One of the cars flipped over the center divider and was pinned between the semi truck's trailer and the wall.
  • Later, a car caught fire in a separate incident in the northbound lanes, adding to traffic chaos.
  • Another crash happened near the interchange with the 118 Freeway in San Fernando, with the semi's front end crushed, and the driver taken to the hospital in critical condition.
  • A separate crash on the nearby 210 Freeway involving a truck hauling oranges added to the congestion.
