Mud flap accident on Highway 401 leaves van damaged

On March 14, a surprising incident occurred on Highway 401 in Milton, Ontario, when a mud flap from a tractor-trailer broke loose and pierced the windshield of a delivery van.

What happened: The van was traveling west near Tremaine Road when the mud flap dislodged and struck the windshield. Though the van sustained substantial damage, the driver was unharmed.

  • Police highlighted how the situation could have been disastrous, noting, "This could have ended in tragedy for the driver of the van," as reported INsauga.
  • The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively seeking information and eyewitnesses to help identify the truck and its driver.

Thankfully, despite the severe damage to the van, there were no injuries from this unexpected incident. The search for the truck driver continues.
