Motorist crashes into parked semi at Haverhill rest area

Early Monday morning, a tragic accident occurred at a rest stop on Interstate 495 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. A motorist crashed into the back of a parked tractor-trailer, resulting in their death.

The details: The collision happened at the rest area along I-495 around January 27. The impact left the vehicle severely damaged, crumpled against the trailer.

  • The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver emerged without injuries.
  • The crash site closed temporarily for investigation but reopened by 6:30 a.m., according to Boston 25 News.

What we know: Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash. The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Thankfully, the truck driver involved in the incident was unharmed, and the highway is now fully operational.
