Missouri police search for semi after fatal hit-and-run

A tragic accident unfolded on November 25th when a semi truck hit a pedestrian on I-44 in Franklin County, Missouri.

Details of the incident: Around 1:36 p.m., a 60-year-old man was changing a tire on the highway shoulder at mile marker 225. A semi truck veered off the road and struck him, as well as two parked vehicles—a pickup and an SUV.

  • The man died on the spot due to the impact.
  • The truck, described as a maroon cab with "ego" markings, fled the scene after the collision.

What's happening now: The Missouri State Highway Patrol is asking for public assistance in locating the semi. They noted damage on the truck's front passenger side and urge anyone with information to contact them at 636-300-2800.
