Historic Colorado truck stop fire under investigation, no injuries reported

A historic truck stop in Adams County, Colorado went up in flames early Sunday morning.

The scene: Firefighters arrived around 4 a.m. on March 2 at the Deno’s 6 and 85 Restaurant and Lounge. The truck stop, a local landmark since 1947, closed its doors back in 2017.

  • South Adams County Fire Department tackled the blaze, successfully containing the heavy flames.
  • No injuries were reported as the building was empty at the time of the fire.

Under investigation: The cause of the fire remains unknown as officials continue to look into the incident, reported KDVR.

Thankfully, due to the building being unoccupied, no one was hurt during the incident.
